Obituary

Anna Mae Manz, 91, Bismarck, formerly of Minot, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck.

Anna Mae was born February 12, 1928 at Underwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Louis and Lydia (Freier) Jennerjohn. She was raised and educated at Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1947. She worked at the Underwood Grocery Store for a short time during her younger years and was once married to Chester Huber.

Anna Mae was then united in marriage to Walter Manz on July 2, 1954 in Underwood. She was employed at Larry's Palm Café for several years as a waitress. She and Walter moved to Minot in 1957, where she was employed at North Hill Bowl and various other café's prior to working at Lydia's Café as a waitress for over 15 years. She retired in 1990 after 48 years as a server. Walter died on November 17, 2004. She moved to Bismarck in 2014 and lived at Crescent Manor, the Terrace and most recently at Missouri Slope Nursing Home.

Anna Mae was a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, and participated in Women's Circle and Bible Study. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, reading the Bible and cooking.

Her loving family includes : children, Corrie (Carol) Huber, Bismarck, ND, Carol (Glenn) Perry, Colorado Springs, CO, Rodney Manz, Sidney, MT, Dawn Marie (Mike) Snyder, Ft. Ashby, WV and Melody (Raymond) Blacksmith, Minot; grandchildren: Kevin Peeler, Karla Stone, Kim Reiswig, Eli Huber, Amanda Brown, Holly Snyder and Christopher Snyder, great grandchildren: Kayla Johnson, Kelli Stone, Kyle Stone, Layla Huber, Sienna Huber, and Levi Peeler and great-great grandson, Elijah Johnson and a cousin; Darold (Beverly) Knippelberg.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Walter, her half-sister, Martha Stebbins and son-in-law, Duane Peeler.

Celebration of Life service: Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
