Obituary

Amanda Jo Bruder, 32, of Minot, formerly of Garrison, ND died at a Minot hospital, July 28, 2020.

Amanda Jo was born May 4, 1988 in Minot the daughter of Dale Burgard and Jaime Bruder. She was raised in Minot for a time, attended elementary school here, and moved to various locations to include Virginia and Arizona. Amanda graduated from Rose Academy High School in Tucson, AZ. She returned to Minot in 2015 and worked at various hotels in customer service. She enjoyed meeting new people from around the country and this work provided her that opportunity.

Amanda loved her little nephew, Nathan with all of her heart and soul. She had incredible relationships with her grandparents and she spent time with each and every one of them and they loved her. Amanda was a fiery spark full of love. There are words of happiness about the treasured time we all had with Amanda, although too brief. There are words of beauty to describe her individuality and how her laughter was infectious. There are words of sorrow to try and communicate what we are feeling now she has left us.

Amanda was beautiful, smart, challenging, and compassionate. She was a great listener with time for friends from all walks of life. She was as selfless as she was determined and left her mark on so many people. She cared so much for her family and friends, especially children. She also always loved to "treat herself", Amanda always took such pride in her long beautiful hair and always looked her best.

Amanda was deeply loved by her family. She shared a special bond with her grandparents and as a young girl spent many weekends at the lake with them and her cousins. Her mischievous smile and sparkling eyes would light up the room. Amanda would get a look on her face and you just knew she had a plan for an adventure- once she had a plan all you could do was hope to get the invite to tag along. Amanda was always generous with her time and talents- helping family and friends whenever she could.

Amanda's life was abruptly cut short and the loss of her will always be painful but her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. Amanda's generosity continued even after her own time on earth was through in the beautiful gift of life she provided to others through organ donation of her heart and kidneys.

Amanda was the powerful type of woman that showed love and encouragement to all she cared for. She will be deeply missed as a daughter, sister, family member and friend.

Amanda is survived by her mother, Jaime Fairbanks (partner Eric Peterson) of Garrison, ND, father, Dale Burgard, of Rugby, ND, her brother; Brandon Johnson and Jasmine and his son, Nathan, step-father, Todd Johnson, all of Minot, ND and her Grandpa, Leo Burgard, Minot, ND and a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Master Sergeant Russell Fairbanks, Jr., paternal grandmother, Alice Burgard and maternal grandparents; Joseph and Deborah (Pixler) Bruder; grandmother Dorothy Johnson.
