Alvin Semchenko, 86, Fargo, formerly of Max, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, in his residence.
Alvin was born December 18, 1928, in Minot, ND to Mathew and Stacia (Bovkoon) Semchenko. He was reared and educated in Max, ND. During his younger years, Alvin assisted on the family farm located in Poplar Township of McLean County, Northeast of Max.
In 1967, Alvin moved to Fargo, where he gained employment with Horvig Manufacturing as a machinist. He worked this position his entire life until he retired.
Alvin was a member of the Senior Citizens in Fargo. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and could often be found fishing.
His loving family includes sister, Doris (Albert) Hochsprung, Minot and brother, Arnold (Caroline) Semchenko, Minot, sister-in-law, Rita Semchenko, Max, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lorraine Alder, brother, Richard Semchenko and sister-in-law, Margie Semchenko.
At Alvin's request a private graveside service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Sawyer, ND.
Memorials are preferred to the Hope Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sawyer or to an organization of the donor's choice.
