Alma Constance Simonson, 103, Minot, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Alma was born May 21, 1910 on the family farm in Shealy Township of Ward County, North Dakota, the daughter of Solomon and Inga (Shevaland) Simonson. She was raised on the family farm and educated at country schools in Shealy Township.
Alma was employed as a housekeeper at Trinity Hospital and as a personal caregiver. After the death of her parents, she became the caregiver of her younger siblings.
Alma enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, reading, especially the Minot Daily News, spending time with and spoiling her nieces and nephews, along with her great nieces and great nephews. She loved to attend the Hostfest for many years.
Alma is survived by her brother, Morgan Simonson, Minot; along with a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rosie Fyllesvold, Irene Borud and Doris Vesey; along with brothers, Selmer, Palmer, Oscar, Emil and Delmer Simonson.
Memorial service:
Friday, December 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Interment:
Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, ND later in the spring of 2014.
Visitation:
one hour prior to the service in Trinity Homes.
