IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allan
Moors
February 9, 1944 – April 7, 2021
Allan Moors , 77, Dunseith, formerly of Sprague River, OR, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in a Minot, ND hospital.
Allan was born February 9, 1944 in Rolette, ND to Arnold and Doris (Baker) Moors. He spent the years of his youth in Rolette.
Allan married Mary Jane Duchaine of Belcourt, ND. They were blessed with three children, Roxanne (Lilley) Moors, Kevin Moors and Jenny Moors. They made the move to Seattle, WA and separated shortly after.
Allan later was joined in marriage to Georgia Kaye Barnes and added two more children to his family, Suzanne and Jack Barnes.
Allan started his career with Coulage Propeller Company as a welder, he then worked his way up to supervisor/boss, but had to leave his position due to medical reasons. Allan and Georgia returned to his roots in Dunseith, restoring a home and enjoying the country life.
Due to health issues with Kaye's parents, they moved to Sprague River, OR. He started with the volunteer fire department, serving as a first responder and as Fire Chief. Allan and Kaye were honored with an 'Outstanding Citizens Award' for the purchase, remodel and development of a community library in Sprague River. He was loved and respected anywhere he went with his contributions to the community of Sprague River. He is still known by his friends as 'Chief' and revered as a great man.
Allan loved the outdoors. He never went anywhere without a fishing pole and given the opportunity, would wet a line in any lake that appeared to be home to a fish. Second to fishing was antique collecting. He loved the hunt, the find and the restoration process to bring old things back to life. Wood carving ducks and fish along with arrowhead searching were a few of his favorite activities to pass the time.
Allan returned to Dunseith at the conclusion of his marriage and spent the remainder of his life with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who were blessed to share in his life.
Allan is survived by his children Jenny Moors and Kevin Moors, both of Belcourt, ND; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; separated spouse G. Kaye Moors, Sprague River, OR; siblings Eldon Moors and Agnes Moors of Dunseith, ND and Doug Moors of Arlington, WA along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Roxanne Moors and sister Sharon (Moors) Langan.
A Service to honor Allan will begin with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at The Log Cabin in Dunseith, ND. A time of fellowship and a meal will be held at noon with a sending service at Carpenter Lake.
