Obituary

Alice Yeager, 67, Minot, died Friday, September 28, 2012 in a Minneapolis hospital.

Alice was born February 13, 1945 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Hayek) Kurtz. She was raised Bettendorf, Iowa and graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1963.

Alice was once united in marriage to Evan Yeager in 1969. This union was blessed with a daughter, Robyn and a son, Bryan. She worked as a key punch operator for IBM for eleven years in Davenport. As a family, they resided in Florida and Montana until Alice moved with her children to Minot in 1986.

She worked as a secretary for Larson Electric in Minot for many years. She attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management through Minot State University in 1994. Alice worked for Sykes of Minot as a CSS technician for over 10 years. Most recently, she was employed as a caregiver for the Minot Vocational Workshop.

All Saints Episcopal Church was a large part of her life. She became a Deacon of the church in July 2010 and was a large part of the church's ministry through the All Saints soup kitchen. She also was a member of the Toastmaster's Group and Community Action both of Minot. While in Montana, she was a member of the Glasgow Jaycees and volunteered for the Red Cross.

She enjoyed quilting, crafts, horseback riding and writing. Alice was a member of the World Clown Association and often performed as "Shylow" for many parties, fairs and parades. Alice will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Her loving family includes daughter, Robyn (Michael) Brakel, Cibolo, TX; son, Bryan Yeager, Gearhart, OR; grandchildren, Christina Verhest, Columbus, OH and Maya Brakel, Cibolo, TX; brother, Robert Kurtz, Kansas City, Iowa; nieces, Cindy Daudt and Sue Schelgel and nephews, Jim and Tom Kurtz.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother and sister.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to All Saints Episcopal Church, Minot.
