Alice Bernice Newman, 87, Minot died on Friday, December 14, 2012 in a Minot nursing home.

Alice was born on March 10, 1925 in Newman Township of Ward County, rural Minot to Ira and Blondina (Holmes) Seney. She was reared on the family farm in Newman Township of Ward County south of Minot and attended rural schools in that area.

Alice married Lawrence Newman on April 7, 1943 in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot. They made their home in Minnesota and Montana for a short time before returning to the Minot area where she was employed as a waitress at various restaurants. More importantly, her number one priority was her three children: Larry, Karen and Warren. Lawrence died on November 26, 1999.

Alice was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and she especially enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Also, she enjoyed playing cards especially SKIPPO and was an avid BINGO player. She never went anywhere without her dauber.

Alice's loving family includes her daughter: Karen Newman of Minot, daughter-in-law: Kathy Newman of Minot; grandsons: Lance and Chris; brothers: Myron Seney of Minot and Roy Seney of Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Larry and Warren, brothers: Vernon and Arnold and sisters: Ilora Pochant and Eldora Brothen.

Celebration of the Life of Alice Newman: Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
