Alice Dendinger, 95, Minot and formerly of the Ruthville area, died Friday, April 27, 2007 in Trinity Nursing Home.
Alice was born November 7, 1911 in Eureka Township of Ward County, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zlevor) Sys. She was raised and educated Northwest of Minot. Alice was united in marriage to Joseph George Dendinger on October 21, 1932, at Minot. They made their home in Tatman Township, east of Ruthville, where they farmed throughout the years until retiring in 1976. Joseph died August 9, 1989. Alice moved into Minot that same year and had continued to reside locally. She moved into Trinity Homes in 2004.
Alice was active with the Tatman Homemakers, Town and Country Gals of Tatman and was the treasurer of the Tatman School Board until it was annexed into the Glenburn School District. She was a member of the Farmers Union local, where she served as a leader for the Youth for over 14 years. Alice was a member of the Women of the Moose and member of the WFLA Bohemian Lodge for more than 75 years. She had attended First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Alice enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, cooking, baking and gardening, especially tending to her strawberry and raspberry patch.
Her loving family includes : daughter: Debra (Charles) Sanderson, Devils Lake, ND; son: Richard (Geraldine) Dendinger, St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren: Michael Dendinger, Daniel Dendinger and Kimberly Dendinger-Nelson and husband, Brent; Derek Sanderson and Jessica Sanderson-Sell; great-grandchildren: Michaella, Paige, Mehgen, Cassidy, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, and Meggan;a number of nieces, nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joseph and George, and sisters, Blanche and Augusta.
Funeral service
: Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation
: Tuesday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
