Alfreda 'Freda' Schultz , 95, Minot, died Monday, October 5, 2020 in a Minot nursing home.

Alfreda Paulina Olson was born September 12, 1925 to Oscar and Elfrida (Johansson) Olson in Douglas, ND. Following the death of her mother, at only 3 days old, she would be raised by neighbors of the family and her older siblings.  Alfreda attend school in Douglas and graduated with the Douglas High School Class of 1942.  She moved to Minot after high school and began working in retail.

Freda was united in marriage to Elmer F. Schultz on October 9, 1946. They made their home in Minot, where she was employed as Fashion Manager for Montgomery Wards until the closing of the store and at Walter's Women's Wear for a number of years.  Freda joined Trinity Homes, where she worked in the activities department and provided sewing services to residents for over 30 years until she retired.

Elmer died on June 15, 1987. She continued to live in Minot and was active as a member of First Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed quilting, pie making for Hostfest and the State Fair.  She also was a member of the Minot VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries and in her spare time volunteered for Trinity Homes.

Bud and Freda enjoyed traveling and visiting, she liked a good book and time spent in her garden.  She was so proud of her grandson Chris and had great joy in her great-granddaughter Gabbie. Freda appreciated the companionship provided by all of her dogs throughout the years.  She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Alfreda's loving family includes her son Frank (Jane) Schultz, Minot; grandchild Christopher (Kristi) Schultz and great grandchild Gabrielle Schultz along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfreda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer "Bud" Schultz, brothers Waldorf, Harold and Charles 'Louie', sisters Florence Timoskevich, Agnes Roen, Josephine Zethren, Marian Ness, Hazel Lee and Tena Beyer, and an infant brother, Ragnar.

Celebration of Life for Alfreda Schultz : 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at First Lutheran Church, Minot. Due to the pandemic, social distancing will be observed and masks are required.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the funeral service at the church.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, Auxiliaries of the Minot VFW/American Legion or to an organization of the donor's choice.
