Obituary

Agnes Gasmann , 91, of rural Max and longtime Gasman Township resident, died on Thursday, November 10, 2011, in a Minot healthcare center.

Agnes was born on May 4, 1920 in Benedict, North Dakota to Lohven and Bessie (Novlesky) Bovkoon. She was reared in Greatstone Township near Benedict and attended rural school. Following her education, she moved to California for a few years before returning to North Dakota.

Agnes married Harold L. Gasmann on October 30, 1947 in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Gasman Township of Ward County between Max and Minot for 64 years where they raised small grains and cattle. They retired from farming in 2009, but had continued to reside on the farm until she became a resident of ManorCare in October of 2011.

Agnes was a member of the local homemakers club, but her number one priority was her family and the farm. She especially enjoyed gardening and was very active in 4-H when her children were young. Agnes was proud of having been named Farmers Day Queen in her youth.
