Adrian Lowell Beecher, 88, Casper, Wyoming and formerly of Minot died on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Life Care Center in Casper.
Adrian was born on June 11, 1926 in Eckman, ND to Homer and Dora (Bristol) Beecher. He was reared and educated in Eckman, Russell and Newburg prior to graduating from Minot High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May of 1945 and served a majority of his time aboard a submarine chaser ship in the area of the Panama Canal and received the WWII Victory Medal. He received his honorable discharge in May of 1948. Following his discharge he returned to North Dakota and began a forty year railroad career with the Great Northern Railroad at Williston in 1948 before transferring to the Soo Line Railroad at Thief River Falls MN in 1949.
Adrian married Evelyn Pederson on June 13, 1953 in Viking MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, MN and Valley City prior to moving to Minot in 1965. He was appointed District Sales Manager at Minot in 1979, a position he held until retiring in 1988. Evelyn died on March 30, 2012. Adrian had continued to make his home in Minot until he moved to Casper WY in April of 2014 residing at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living.
Adrian was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and was a former member of Rotary. He especially enjoyed golfing and volunteering at Trinity Hospital and Hostfest.
Adrian's loving family includes his children: Bruce (Patricia) Beecher of Hazen, Gregory (Lesli) Beecher of Casper WY and Randy (Cindi) Beecher of Blue Springs MO; eight grandchildren: Bradley Beecher, Brian Beecher, Brittany (Danny) Ganske, Brianna Beecher, Adriann (Lucas) Crowe, Collin (Joy) Beecher, Brandon Beecher and Nicole Beecher; great grandchildren: Nataly Ganske, Hannah Ganske, Cadence Crowe, Ryan Crowe, Aria Beecher and Malachi Beecher; sister: Marlene Oster of Bottineau; sister-in-law: Marjorie Beecher of Fargo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers: Homer Jr, Darol and Irvin.
Celebration of the Life of Adrian Beecher: Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas Family Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation: Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time in the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, Building Fund or the Riverside Cemetery Association in Eckman, ND.
