Adolph Weishaar, 96, Minot, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in a Minot hospital.
Adolph was born on February 12, 1916 near Garrison to John and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Weishaar. He was reared and educated near Garrison and Coleharbor.
Adolph married Estella Abel on December 19, 1941 in Sidney, Montana. He was inducted into the US Army Air Force on May 26, 1942 and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1945. Following his discharge, he and Estella made their home on a farm in Malcolm Township of McLean County near Coleharbor. In November of 1965, Adolph established Weishaar Painting and Decorating. His son Loren, assumed ownership of the business in 1981, but Adolph continued painting with his son until his retirement in 1997. Estella died on July 18, 2008.
Adolph was a member of West Minot Church of God. During the past four years, he enjoyed and appreciated the care he received at Emerald Court Assisted Living.
Adolph's loving family includes his sons, Roger (Sharon) Weishaar and Loren (Brenda) Weishaar, all of Minot; five grandchildren: DeLynn (Michelle) Weishaar and children, Garrett, Avery and Zoe; Dallas (Rhonda) Weishaar and children, Paige, Easton, Regan and Kennedy; Kent Weishaar and children, Luc and Kate; Kelli (Robert) Bohlender and children, Jackson and Drew; and Trisha (Kaylan) Carlson and children, Tavia, Cohen and Graham, all of Minot; sisters, Alma Schumaier, Auburn, WA, Irene (Clarence) Krebsbach, Minot, Esther Vitko, Minot, Hulda Mehlhoff, Minot; brothers, Art (Elsie) Weishaar, Benedict; Ervin (Ella) Weishaar, Wahpeton; Bert (Alice) Weishaar, Benedict; sisters-in-law: Blanche Weishaar and Erna Seidler Wood and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adolph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Estella; and brothers: John, Albert (Ruby) and Willie (Rena) and brothers-in-law: John Schumaier, Joe Vitko and Melvin Mehlhoff.
Celebration of the Life of Adolph Weishaar:
Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in West Minot Church of God.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation
: Sunday, January 13, 2013 from Noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
