Obituary

Adelaide Corona Borstad, 97, Minot, died on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her son's home in Minneapolis, MN.

Adelaide was born December 17, 1920 in Ray, ND to Maynard and Tilda (Asleson) Vedvick. She grew up and received her education in Ray, ND and attended college in Minot. After college she worked at the Minot Elks Lodge until she was married.

Adelaide was united in marriage to Orrison Borstad on October 17, 1943 in Minot. They lived in Minot until purchasing a farm in Burt Township of Ward County southwest of Minot in 1947. Together they created a life on the prairie by farming to provide for their growing family. They retired in 1979 and moved to Minot in 1988. Orrison passed away on August 23, 1999.

Adelaide was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, rural Minot where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Minot, where she was active in a Circle. She also maintained memberships to the Elks Lodge, Eagles Aerie, Moose Lodge, Farm Bureau and Sons of Norway.

Adelaide was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening and bridge, playing twice a week her entire adult life. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Adelaide is survived by her children, Myles Borstad, Plymouth, MN, Kayleen (Tom) McLoughlin, Randolph, Vermont, Wayne Borstad, Minot, ND; grandchildren, Kristen (Tim) Hebert, Kara (Aaron) Fuchs, Jamie (Diana) McLoughlin, Katie McLoughlin, Tyler Borstad and Andrea (Darryl) Cross; great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Annabel, Frederick, Theodore, Loick, Payton, Henley, Fiona and Eivin; in laws, Donna and Wes Luther and numerous nieces and nephews.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orrison, brothers, Eldon, Milton, Clayton, Irving, Erling and sister, Selma.

Celebration of the Life of Adelaide Borstad: Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation: Monday, April 30, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to North Memorial Hospice, Robbinsdale, MN, First Lutheran Church, Minot or Metigoshe Ministries at Lake Metigoshe.
