Obituary

Abby Lester Zarr , 21, died Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Minot.

Abby Jean was born on January 5 th , 1999 in Williston, North Dakota. Moving to Browerville, MN in early 1999. Abby spent much of her time as a little girl with her Nana and Bapa Reger. Minnesota was home for many years but eventually she and her family moved to North Dakota settling in Minot, ND in 2010.  In junior high school she enjoyed participating in volleyball, basketball and cheerleading. Abby worked at Tractor Supply for three years during high school. She graduated from Minot High School in 2017.

Abby loved the outdoors and was nicknamed "Abby Earnhardt" for her love of speed on four-wheelers and golf carts. The love of the outdoors extended into high school where she found the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. This is where she developed her love of cows and eventually making the decision to pursue a career in agriculture at North Dakota State University.

Abby was united in marriage on July 31 st , 2020 to Regaen Zarr, in a small private ceremony. Abby and Regaen enjoyed traveling to several states visiting most all of the west coast, hiking and swimming and indulging in Abby's love for hotels and Jacuzzi Suites.

Family was a large part of who Abby was. Abby's bond with her brothers Alex and William was unmatched. She was their protector, their friend and their confidant … but, you didn't have to be a blood relative to be considered family to Abby. Abby had a genuine love for people, and she was never shy when it came to sharing her hugs and heartfelt "I love you's". You only had to meet Abby once to become a part of her family. She loved to smile and laugh! That laughter and energy was contagious; and, you could always count on her to brighten up any room just by being in it.

Abby was a bit of a social butterfly and loved to bring people together. She was known to share her love of dancing with whoever would join her on a dance floor; and, she wasn't shy at all about pulling people away from a table and encouraging them to join her in a line dance.

It's impossible to sum up the life of someone like Abby in just a few paragraphs. So many people have been touched by this young woman. We have been blessed to have had her for this very short time and will keep her alive in our hearts and minds by sharing her stories, her love of life, family, and friends.

Abby is survived by and will be greatly missed by her wife, Regaen Zarr; her parents Josh and Marcy Lester; her brothers, Alex and William; her grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

A Celebration of Abby's life will be scheduled for a later date and will be announced.
Memorials are preferred to the Minot FFA Chapter.
