Delores Muriel Dahl, 88, Minot, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 in a Minot Hospital.
Delores was born October 21, 1928 in Eddyside, Saskatchewan, Canada the daughter of Herbert and Ada (Summerlet) Anderson. She was raised at Big Beaver, Saskatchewan and educated at Cow Creek and East Poplar schools in that area, before graduating from Assiniboia High School in 1945. She moved to Scobey, Montana in 1945 and was employed for three years as a clerk in a department store there.
Delores was united in marriage to Elvin Dahl on January 11, 1948 at Scobey. They made their home at various places in North Dakota until settling in Minot in 1963. In addition to raising their four children, Delores was employed as program director for the YWCA from 1975-1985. Since 1990, they had spent the winter months in Apache Junction, Arizona until 2006.
Delores was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot and the Minot American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her loving family includes, husband of 69 years, Elvin; children, Janice (Joel) Wood, Hazen, ND, Ronald Dahl, Kearns, UT, Darla Swanson, Minot and Laurie (Ken) Paisley, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jamey, Jessie, Lee, Amy, Colin, Casey & Kristopher; great grandchildren, Dakota, Hunter & Lincoln Wood; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, son in law, Kent Swanson; daughter in law, Kellie Dahl; sisters, Lois Manternach, Lorene Stannebein and Beulah Edland; brothers, Harlen, Eugene and Orval.
Celebration of Life Service: Later in the Spring of 2017 in Minot.
Interment: Later in the ND Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Minot or the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
