Mavis Sutter

Mavis Sutter, 76, Minneapolis, MN died Sunday, September 2, 2012 in her daughter’s home. 

Mavis was born October 10, 1935 in Bottineau, ND to Albert and Alida (Hoffas) Larson.  She was raised and educated in Bottineau, graduating with the class of 1954. 

 She married Lloyd Moe in 1954.  This union was blessed with four beautiful children.

Mavis was employed by North Central Electric in Bottineau as a billing clerk for eight years.   

She remained in Bottineau until 1976, when she moved to Minot .There she worked for Midco Data Systems.  Mavis married Otto Sutter in 1982 in California.  They resided in Carson, CA where Mavis worked for the Pepper Music Company for 13 years as a bookkeeper until retirement, returning to Minot in 1997.   

Mavis enjoyed traveling, embroidery, walking and was an avid bowler.  She attended Immanuel Baptist Church and was a member of the Toastmaster’s and Eagle’s Auxiliary, all of Minot. 

Mavis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2011 and moved to Minneapolis, MN to be near her family.

She is survived by her children, Kent Moe (Dolores), Grand Junction, CO, Lonnie (Jeanne) Moe, Spearfish, SD, Jeffrey Moe, Dilworth, MN and Cindy Moe, Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Audrin (Marlyce) Larson, Bottineau, ND, Yvonne (Myron) Amundson, Fargo, ND, Lowell (Eleanore) Larson, Cortez, CO, Dave Larson, Sawyer, ND, Elmon (Karen) Larson, Omaha, NE, Sharon Wolf, Fargo, ND, Teresa (Arlen) Nelson, Souris, ND, Timothy (Mariole) Larson, Inman, Iowa, Paulette Efimenko, Dunseith, ND and Matthew (Peggy) Larson, Bottineau. ND, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol Long and brother Harold Larson and her granddaughter, Trista Moe. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bottineau, ND with interment at Oak Creek Cemetery.

I am sorry for your loss. Mavis, who I knew through the Minot Eagles Auxiliary, was a wonderful woman. I enjoyed traveling with her to a couple Dakota State Eagles conventions.
