Understanding that each family's wishes are different, we offer numerous alternatives.  Together with the family, we can help create a service of remembrance and a tribute to life as unique as the individual. Listed below are several of the most common options available:

Traditional Funeral Service

The traditional funeral service and burial is the most common service of remembrance in this area.  A service at a church, or in the chapel of the Thomas Family Funeral Home would be followed by burial in a cemetery.  A time of fellowship, reviewal and visitation are key elements of this type of service.  Music selections, musicians, and casketbearers are all variable aspects of this type of service.

Cremation

Cremation is an alternative to earth burial. For those who prefer cremation, several options are available. These include a service with visitation and viewing followed by cremation. Families may opt for cremation followed by a memorial service, with or without a time for a private family viewing and/or public visitation.  In addition, we offer immediate cremation with no service.  Following the cremation process, families may decide to inter the cremated remains at a cemetery, scatter the cremated remains, keep them in their home, or any combination thereof.

The Deeded Body Program

A person may donate their body to science for anatomical study.  A traditional funeral, private viewing, or public visitation are available options prior to the body being transported to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, ND.

Public Assistance Dispositions

We are available to assist families whatever their financial situation. Funds are available from North Dakota counties to assist families that do not have sufficient financial means for final disposition.  However, families must apply and qualify for these funds.
