Neil Moen, 53, Grafton, formerly of Minot, died Tuesday, November 13, 2006, in a Grafton Medical Center.                                             

Neil was born January 28, 1953, at Minot, North Dakota, the son of Norman and Edna (Resler) Moen.  He lived on the family farm near Velva for the first six years of his life.   In 1959, due to his developmental disabilities, he became a resident of the Grafton State School, now known as the Development Center.  Neil loved the farm and enjoyed spending summers there after moving to Grafton. 

In 1977, he moved to San Haven, which was a branch of the Development Center.  When San Haven closed, he returned to live at the Center in Grafton, where he attended services and Bible classes. 

Neil is survived by:  Mother: Edna Moen, of Bremerton, WA; Sisters: Elaine Morgan, Port Ludlow, WA, and Diane Moen, Moorhead, MN; Nephews: Shawn Swilley, Kent, WA, and Shane Swilley, Portland, OR. 

Neil was preceded in death by his father, Norman. 

Funeral service: Saturday, November 18, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
Memorials:  Memorials are preferred to All Faiths Chapel at the Grafton State School.
