Local Grief Support Groups
There are several organizations in the Minot area that have support groups for people who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Hope and Healing After A Death
Presented by Trinity Hospice, "Hope & Healing After A Death" is a series of six programs for people who have experienced the death of a friend or loved one. Sessions will explore the phenomenon of grief, examine the mourning process and identify self-care strategies to promote healing. For more information, please call Trinity Hospice at 857-5083 or toll-free at 1-800-862-0005.
Camp Discovery is a camp for children ages 6-14 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Campers enjoy many activities supervised by experienced professionals and Hospice staff. Equally important, they will be able to express and understand their own feelings so they can proceed through the grieving process while under the guidance of professionals. For more information, or for future dates of the camp, please call Trinity Hospice at 857-5083 or toll-free at 1-800-862-0005.
Compassionate Friends is a support group for parents whose children of any age have died. This group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at Trinity Medical Center in the hospital Cafeteria Conference Room. There is no charge for this group. They also have a newsletter that is mailed monthly. For more information, or to receive the monthly newsletter, please contact Chaplain Curt Hanson or Kim Kraft by calling 857-5000 or toll-free at 1-800-862-0005.
